  1. Great tips! There's only 2 of us so for those meals I want to store longer, I use my food saver. I've had no issues with the taste or the quality beyond 3 months

  2. I bought the year package and it has already paid off. Keeping shredded chicken in the freezer is so versatile for recipes, and one can load the Instant Pot to the top and have 2 gallon bags of shredde chicken to used as needed. I recommend getting the year package as I also got a PDF on shredded chicken recipe

  3. I actually do meal prep where I make 5 meals over 1 or 2 weekends and I then have enough mails for a different one each day for a month or 6 weeks, depending on the serving size for each meal.

What I do is cook the meal, dish it out into storage containers, and then let it cool, first until it is no longer steaming and then an hour or two in the fridge. I then place plastic wrap on the food, pushing it into the nooks and crannies as much as I can, and then put on the lid to the container. The point is even though it is not air tight, it is keeping as much air off the food as possible, even the air between the food and the lid. It then goes in the freezer.

I take it out the day before, and put it in the fridge, and the next day it is ready for me to take to work. I usually take out the next meal when I am getting ready for work and replace the meal in the fridge that I am going to eat that day. The only issue is remembering to take one out on Sunday…

  4. I painted one side of my stand up freezer with chalkboard paint and keep freezer inventory there where it is easy to update.

  5. I don't use freezer meals. I do keep small packages of frozen cooked meats like Rotisserie chicken or ham for quick dinners. I feel like if I have a protein I can always come up with quick sides or a salad. I don't always like my food mixed up–I grew up in the 70's and casseroles were a nightmare for me. I went through the "not wanting my food to touch" phase as a kid!

  6. Thank you for sharing kristen have a blessed day stay safe and healthy. Great video love all the tips, I make freezer meals a lot, use to use what ever plastic bag I had on hand now after watching you for years I only use freezer bags. ❤❤🙏❤🙏👍👍👍👍👍👍

  7. I never used to do freezer meals until this year. I love it. It’s so much easier. I like them for the school year (I’m a teacher and don’t live to close to work.). Then summer in TX is HOT so sometimes cooking (turning on the oven especially) is to hot. I never knew what to make in the crock pot until I found you all and another person I follow.
    Thank you!

  8. Honestly when I bought my instant pot I searched for ideas and find yours channel.i tried the frozen meals to see if is helpful and yes.1 Saturday I sit and I have everyday meals for a month.for a single working guy is life saver. thank you

  9. Another helpful tip: Remember to label your freezer bags before you put food in them. It doesn't work very well after the food is there. Been there, done that, learned the hard way lol

  10. I like doing freezer meals, but don't always feel like I have the time to spend hours shopping and putting them together. We just had your Hawaiian chicken recipe yesterday that I had previously frozen and it reminded me how much I like them! I also have a difficult time finding a way to organize them in my freezer so I don't lose them in the back.

  11. I couldn’t look at all of the posts to find this answer.
Will the recipes include the dietary numbers? Calories, carbs, protein, etc?

  12. I like to use a vacuum sealer for everything we won't eat in a day or two. For freezer meals you would have to put them in the bags and freeze them before sealing. Vacuum sealing can last much longer than regular freezer bags, but I don't know how long. I've had steaks vacuum sealed over a year that tasted just fine. I was wondering about one more thing. Are you going to try to have daughter #6 so you can set up another channel called Six Daughters Stuff? Ha! May the Lord continue blessing you and yours and remember I will always love you all.

  13. Because I only have just me, I freeze aer amounts. To cut corners, I don't use quart freezer bags, but I put them into a gallon bag, so 3 to 4 smaller bags in the gallon freezer bag, which doesn't dirty the gallon bag & then I reuse it

  14. My wife and I like to try as many different recipes as we can, but like you are freezers are always full. I guess I'll just have to eat more! lol..

  15. Hi, love your videos, so helpful. Sometimes I find instant pot stews are far too runny. Would it be ok to put water in a cup on a trivet above the stew to provide enough liquid to build up the required pressure and have less in the actual stew below the trivet?

  16. I do have a question. I made a Instant pot meal and I have a lot left over. So I froze it. How do I go about reheating it in my pot after I have frozen it ?

  17. We use the notes in our phone which we share with the kids and every time someone takes out something out of the freezer, he crosses it out on the list. And when me or my husband put something in the freezer, we add it to the list. Works (almost) perfect.

  18. WOW you are the 1 doing it wrong. Wrong bags, No vac sealing "Croivac", Yes you can Cryovac liquids even water. Sous vide is perfect for reheating meals and cooking most things { In Plastic bags}… My family eats meals over a year old all year long. We produce and store most of our food. 4 freezers full all year. Do your research, PLEASE.

  19. im sorry did my ears hear that right…people cooking the freezer meals IN the bag …oh my ….no words just shock ..bless …i use my freezer always but more for homemade bread/muffins and like things to help make a meal …like freeze the pizza dough n batch sauce so i can then make a pizza or 2 with just fresh toppings etc..never full meals ….

  20. Freezing the bag (closed) into another Foodsaver bag would make it last longer and you can wash and reuse the Foodsaver bag after. I never tried it but I think it would help to prep for longer periods of time if you have the space for it!!
