  1. my great grandfather is hainanese, cooked for the brits and had a beef noodle hawker stall. I wonder if we're distantly related to this guy. lol

  2. My late Hainanese father in law was a big time caterer for the British in the 60s. My wife recalled how he organised garden steak dinner on a super long charcoal grill with white uniformed chefs and cooks cooking on each sides. In those days parties like this is unheard-of.
