4. I am 52 and from a family of 8 andy mom cooked the Spanish rice like that… It was cheap and fed us all. She only used lb of ground beef with 2 boxes and 2 cans of tomatoes to help stretch it and always had corn and garlic bread. She did this 2 to 3 times a month. Today I still make it for my family and some times I use shrimp instead of ground beef and it is amazing that way too.

9. We make our Spanish rice the same way except we add cut okra to it with Tabasco sauce. Andrea, I like to sauté my bell pepper and onions with the ground meat too. I love all the rice a roni meal ideas. I cook some of the same ingredients but I like the additional ingredients you add. You’ve given me some really great ideas. Hope you have a blessed day!

13. I love all your Rice A Roni recipes! I love Rice A Roni! I tried many others but still like Rice A Roni the best. My mom made it when we were growing up. Either as a meal with ground beef or as a side. She never made rice from scratch. I still love it to this day. They had a jingle with it that I still remember. 🎶 Hahaha!
