We've put together some tips to help you keep your ferret healthy, active and still feed him delicious food.
Proteins and fats – ferrets are carnivores and their health depends on a quality diet that contains at least 34% protein and 22% gat that time
Snacks – Some snacks such as pieces of chicken or turkey are recommended, but in small quantities and frequently.
Vegetables – should be avoided, as they are difficult to digest and can cause suffocation or gastrointestinal blockages.
Fruits – Fruits should not be given to ferrets as they contain fructose and sugars that can aggravate insulinoma conditions.
IMPORTANT:
To feed your ferret, choose a small dish that is made of ceramic rather than plastic. Ceramic dishes are resistant to drops, bites, chews and dirt. They are also more durable and don't need to be replaced as often unless they crack or break.
TIP:
Place the food bowl in an area of the cage that is away from your ferret's bathroom area. Wash the bowl with soap and water, rinse and dry well – this cleaning can be done along with weekly cleaning of the cage. Check for intact or unfinished food about an hour after it has been given to your ferret, and always keep it fresh – be careful with perishable items!
REMEMBER IF:
cat or dog food or food NO is suitable for feeding a ferret!
