Finally I went to visit Roi Méditerranée: a French restaurant at CJ Shops, the luxurious shopping mall in Jardins, in São Paulo. With Carioca DNA, the creator is businessman Leonardo Rezende, partner of the successful 14zero3 group (Pici Trattoria, Brasserie Mimolette, L’Atelier Mimolette, Posì Mozza & Mare and Oia Cozinha Mediterrânea). The inspiration is the south of France, the glamorous French Riviera, which encompasses cities such as Cannes and Saint Tropez. The house is very airy and has a romantic atmosphere, full of flowers. Furthermore, the French Mediterranean cuisine menu is extensive, with a mix of sophisticated and simpler dishes. A place that combines pleasant atmosphere, great service and delicious food. Shall we see the details? Take the opportunity to also read about Aizomê, a traditional Japanese restaurant and Nelita, a new Italian restaurant in Pinheiros.

The French restaurant project at CJ Shops
The beautiful house is on the third floor of the shopping center, where lots of light comes in from the glass ceiling and the outdoor areas. The furniture, with lots of wood, was created exclusively by the Artefacto store. Nautical ropes convey the warmth and freshness of the south of France. Furthermore, they transport us to one of the most stunning regions in Europe. Decor helps to recover impressions that go beyond taste. The swing, like dried leaves and flowers wrapped and very well thought out, is already an Instagrammable success! Therefore, an elegant and relaxed environment at the same time.

The menu
The partners did extensive research on the Côte D’Azur, not only from a culinary point of view, but also the way of life, culture and landscape – which is certainly beyond stunning! The result of the French restaurant menu at CJ Shops are original recipes, using quality raw materials. And furthermore, with respect for seasonality and Mediterranean methods and techniques. In other words, you can choose between Steak Tartare and Tuna with Foie Gras, as a starter, as well as Filet Rossini or Lobster with linguini, for example.

My lunch
I made a point of going at lunch time, just so I could take a good look at the decoration and also take these clicks that you see throughout the post. The house was very busy, after all, it was a Friday. However, the space between tables is being respected, as well as other health standards. Furthermore, the service was very correct and attentive.

To start, I tried the super soft cubes of breaded goat cheese and honey. Next, I ordered the perfect egg mollet, with truffled mushrooms and for main, I went with the Mediterranean salad, very well served. Marcelo ordered the tuna tartare and couldn’t resist the stroganoff, a suggestion from the dear maître d’ Ricardo Zaroni, and he loved it! Highlight for the crispiest fries in history! Furthermore, the wine list is consistent and there is a wide variety of drinks. The grand finale was the naughty profiteroles with Nutella syrup! I adore!
Conclusion
In times when we are banned from entering Europe, we can at least get a taste of bucolic Provence in the Jardins, not just in terms of gastronomy, but also in the atmosphere. Long live Roi (which means king and is pronounced “ruá”) Méditerranée, a French restaurant at CJ Shops.
