Porto Seguro – Brazil Travel Guide, Tour Tips and Accommodation

South America

From the most lively with axé booming from the speakers in the tents and people bumping into each other on the sand in high season to the most peaceful and semi-deserted, far from the city center.

These are the beaches of Porto Seguro: for all tastes, styles and purposes. It is possible to have fun on the beaches of Taperapuã, Mundaí and Itacemirim or find calm and rest in Curuípe, Rio dos Mangues, Ponta Grande and Mutá. Banana boat, ultralight, speedboat, boat and kayak trips can also be practiced, as well as walks on the long stretches of sand.

Taperapuã

The most popular beach in Porto Seguro, Taperapuã is surrounded by inns and beach huts. To enjoy the hustle and bustle of the day, the beach hosts shows and loud music all day long.

The sea water is usually calm, good for bathing. Some sporting activities such as volleyball, kayaking and beach soccer can be practiced. The beach is 7 km from the center.

Mundaí Beach

This beach is closer to the center, about 4 km away. It also tends to be a busy destination with lots of kiosks and people vying for space on the sand in high season. Some huge coconut trees provide shade to the relief of tourists. Here, the tents also play loud music all day long, especially axé. More tranquility can be found in kiosks further away from the hustle and bustle that play blues and rock for more refined tastes.

Curuípe marks the beginning of the stretch of calm and semi-deserted waters. Despite being the closest to the city center, it is not one of the busiest. A few stalls are set up serving coconut water and other foods. The beach is very popular for walks.

Mangrove River

It can be said that this beach wins when it comes to beauty. It has coconut trees and mangroves in its surroundings. The natural pools formed on the beach are lush green and invite you to take a relaxing swim. The place is perfect for hiking, kayaking and even microlighting for the more adventurous. It is 8 km from the center.

Ponta Grande

The paradisiacal setting is almost 10 km from the center of Porto. It is one of the least frequented in the area, but it is not for lack of beauty, as the beach is home to calm and clear seas, rocks on the coast, coconut trees, a few stalls and services such as banana boats, boat rides and kayaks.

This is the last beach in Porto Seguro, it is on the border with the municipality of Santa Cruz Cabrália. As it is quite remote, it is not very frequented by tourists, but it is the ideal place for those looking for calm. The waters are warm and crystal clear, suitable for boat trips and ultralight flying.
