I’ll confess something to you: it took me more than 30 years to learn how to make coffee. The truth is that I’ve never been obsessed with this drink and as I have an espresso machine* (yes, it’s with an “s”, read the explanation at the end of the post) at home, I never ended up making it the traditional way. Until these days I decided that a young woman “senhoura” as I have an obligation to make a good coffee and after some tests I got it just right. Don’t laugh because I know there are a lot of people who don’t know how to make coffee! So for those who don’t know, let’s learn?
Boil: 400ml of water with 5 tablespoons of sugar (if you don’t want the coffee already sweetened, just don’t add sugar). Then you put together that equipment: Open the thermos, put that thing that looks like a funnel and that I have no idea what it’s called, put the paper filter inside it, add 4 tablespoons (soup) full of coffee powder and go gently pouring boiling water.
I guarantee that you will no longer be embarrassed by visits like me!
Dad, next time you come I’ll make coffee, okay?
* The correct spelling when referring to coffee is “espresso” because it is a word of Italian origin that comes from the verb “to squeeze” since coffee of this type is extracted under pressure, but in Brazil it is normally written “espresso” because it is associated with speed…

You are very sweet! I posted a basic coffee recipe for those like me who don’t care much for the drink. But now, with the tips you left in the comments, let’s complement this post and make a much better coffee:
– Do not boil the water (take it off the heat a little beforehand). Or boil and let it cool before pouring the coffee.
– If you make a large quantity and leave it in the bottle, it is better not to sweeten it, otherwise it will alter the flavor.
– Preferably use mineral or filtered water.
I think that’s it to continue at the basic level. If you complete it with more things, you will go to the level “mini-freshness“. Thanks for the tips, beloved!
