Eyebrow micropigmentation step by step

Eyebrow micropigmentation step by step

Beauty

Thread-by-thread eyebrows, also known as eyebrow micropigmentation, consists of an aesthetic procedure in which a pigment is applied to the epidermis, in the eyebrow region, to highlight it and make it more defined and have a more beautiful shape. Therefore, the person may feel pain during the technique, but generally, a local anesthetic is applied before the procedure to reduce discomfort.

This procedure must be carried out in a beauty clinic, by a specialized professional, with specific material and it is also very important to follow the appropriate care after the technique, in order to obtain the best results.

The price of eyebrow micropigmentation can vary between 500 and 2000 reais, depending on the clinic where it is carried out.

Step by step procedure

Generally, the eyebrow micropigmentation procedure is performed by the following steps:

  1. Eyebrow drawing with a pencil suitable for the skin;
  2. Application of a topical anesthetic, leaving it there for a few minutes;
  3. Cleaning and disinfection of the region;
  4. Preparation of the pigment, which must be the same shade as the original eyebrow and close to the hair root;
  5. Drawing the eyebrow hairs with a dermographer or a tebori;
  6. If a dermograph is used, the pigment is applied simultaneously. If a tebori is used, the next step is to apply the pigment;
  7. Cleaning the region.

To carry out this procedure, it is very important to use sterile and/or disposable material and follow the care recommended by the professional who performed the technique. Furthermore, the ink must be of high quality and approved by Anvisa, as, if it is of poor quality, it can change tone and cause allergies and infections.

Care after the procedure

In the days following the procedure, a scab will appear, which should not be removed to avoid compromising pigmentation and healing.

In addition, you must take some care, especially in the first 30 days after the procedure and avoid sun exposure, avoid rubbing the area after bathing, avoid going to swimming pools, saunas and beaches and apply a moisturizing and nourishing oil daily, about 3 times a day.

About a month after the procedure, the pressure should return to the clinic so that the professional can check that everything is ok and so that he can carry out the necessary touch-ups.

Risks of micropigmentation

Although it is rare, in some cases, micropigmentation can lead to the formation of spots on the skin or make it difficult for hair to grow in the region.

How long does it last

As the pigment is applied to the epidermis and not the dermis, micropigmentation is not permanent, as is the case with tattoos, and only lasts about 1 to 2 years. The time the coloring lasts depends on the type of device used, and it will last longer if a dermograph is used instead of a tebori.

Who shouldn’t do

Thread-by-thread eyebrows should not be performed on people who are allergic, who have an infection near the application area or who have difficulty healing.

Furthermore, it should also not be performed on pregnant women, women who are breastfeeding, diabetics, unstable hypertensive patients, people taking anticoagulants, those who have recently had surgery, those with cancer or those who suffer from eye problems.
