Last year I bought a Dolce Gusto coffee maker. Since then, people often ask me: “Is it worth it?”, “Is it expensive?”, “Is the coffee good?”…
I think it depends on what you’re looking for. Espresso coffee makers are very fresh and I wouldn’t have the patience to grind the beans, add the powder and do all that ritual. So I opted for a capsule coffee maker. I’m not addicted to coffee, but I like a good espresso (yes, it’s with an “s” because it comes from an Italian word that means to squeeze).
Okay, why Dolce Gusto and not Nespresso?
Because Nespresso only has coffee (and they are incredible) while Dolce Gusto has a wide variety of hot drinks (the Latte Macchiato is heavenly!).
It’s the price?
The Machine is not expensive, but the capsules are. If you’re the type of person who drinks coffee all day, this is an expensive game. The box of capsules varies a little, but today I paid 25 bucks. It comes with 16 servings for coffee and 8 servings for hot drinks (because half of them are milk capsules).
This drink in the photo consists of 3 spoons of powdered milk, 1 dose of caffé lungo (replace with ready-made regular coffee), sugar or sweetener to taste and a mug smeared with hazelnut cream.
Some people say: It’s cheaper to go to the cafe and eat there.
Maybe, but drinking coffee with Nutella in your pajamas and wrapped in a blanket has its value, right?
