Located in the Itaim Bibi neighborhood, in São Paulo, the Musa apartment is inhabited by a cosmopolitan couple who have sport as a common passion. Therefore, the double-height room in the property attracts attention with an unusual decoration: a climbing wall in earthy tones.
This surprising element not only adds a touch of adventure and modernity to the environment, but also reflects the active and dynamic lifestyle of the residents. How to decorate a duplex apartment?
The couple’s request for the upper floor was to create a meeting place so they could welcome friends and familyand spend quality time there. Games table, jacuzzi, barbecue, beer cooler, living room and TV, all to create a complete social environment and, at the same time, accommodate the family’s day-to-day habits.
Os residents of apartment decorated with climbing wall Their hobby is the kitchen, which is completely open and made of stainless steel. In order not to obstruct the passage of light and the view, glass and perforated metal sheets were used in the upper cabinets to store glasses and glasses.
The front part of the kitchen received an island with stools for everyday meals. Next door, a hall/arrival space was designed as a wooden box, which has a refrigerator built into the joinery and a bar point.
Furthermore, the space functions as a lounge and welcome drink, or even an intimate setting for breakfast. In the end, It is important that the house offers possibilities to the user so that he inhabits it according to the dynamics of his daily life.
How to define color palette for apartment?
Loose furniture always adds flavor to the atmosphere created as a base. Here, there are neutral tones ranging from raw, mint green, moss green, light wood and worked stones.
The mix of materials such as green ebonized wood, iron mesh on the base of the armchair, stone on the top of the games table and stitches of canvas and leather, enriches the touch and look.
The project as a whole received cleaner choices, which is why textures were included on the floor, a porcelain tile cut into shards. Furthermore, the texture of the walls in the social areas was done by hand, all trowelled with putty and rustic paint dissolved on top.
What sets the decorated apartment apart is the climbing wall
Without a doubt, the biggest challenge of the project became the highlight: the climbing wall created to fill the double heighta solution inspired by the residents’ own habits and profile.
A new staircase was built to bring more depth to the closet in the master bedroom, gaining a design that is half inserted in depth and the other half cantilevered, with light metal sheets.
The stainless steel metalwork, neutral materiality, was worked on the ceiling between rooms, from the dining sideboard in the room downstairs to the home theater on the upper floor. So, on this shelf, there are some points of use in Bahian travertine marble, a dining sideboard, a seating bench and a staircase step.
The master bedroom received earthy tones due to an existing brick wall, bringing more warmth to the intimate environment of the house. With designed bed tapestry, the interventions in the space were all custom developedthus taking advantage of existing cabinets to avoid waste.
