There is also the launch of two varieties of Ficus: Ficus Religiosa and Ficus Shivereana. The first, also presented by Veiling Holambra, is known as the sacred tree in Hinduism, Janaism and Buddhism.

This is because it is believed that Buddha, founder of Buddhism, was sitting under the shade of a Religious Ficus when he had a moment of enlightenment. It is so old that there is a record of it being planted in 288 BC in Sri Lanka.

The Ficus Shivereana or Ficus Elaástica Shivereana “Moonshine” is a new product from Terra Viva. It has shiny leaves that look like they were hand-painted. The new leaves are born in a neon green tone and darken as they grow, gaining some dark green spots. This makes the plant even more special and unique, as each leaf and each plant has its own ”painting”.
